JOSEPH HENRY - Osteopath & director
Joseph Henry is an experienced osteopath originally from northern New South Wales. After graduating from university Joe moved to Sydney where he worked for a number of years in a busy health facility. It was here that Joe not only further developed his clinical skills and education, but also became a respected and well sought after practitioner. Joe is now a resident of the Fraser Coast region and is keen to bring his skills and health expertise to the Hervey Bay community. Whether it is helping you recover from an acute sporting injury, decreasing your pain from a chronic condition or simply increasing your functional capacity Joe takes great pride in any help he can provide.
During his study Joe received a SARRAH (Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health) scholarship which helped him to thrive throughout his university years, sparking a passion that he followed all the way to Sydney and now to the beautiful town of Hervey Bay. Always looking to further his education and experience, for Joe it’s all about the pride in seeing his patients’ lives improve as a result of their Osteopathic treatment.
nat sloane- Osteopath & director
Nat embarked on his osteopathy journey with an extensive 5-year training at Southern Cross University, during which he was awarded the Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health (SARRAH) scholarship. After graduating, he gained valuable experience working in various clinics in Sydney and the South Coast of NSW. With the belief that he is only as good as his last treatment, Nat continuously explores new approaches and skills in patient assessment and treatment through regular training.
Nat believes in providing patient-centred, individualised care for each of his patients to help them achieve the best possible outcome. He will evaluate your condition and build a program that is designed not only to ease the pain but also to guide you back to your desired level of activity and health. As a fitness enthusiast who has recovered from numerous injuries himself, he has special interests in addressing musculoskeletal restrictions and movements to enhance performance, prevent injury or restore balance in the body.
With a passion to share his skills and clinical expertise, Nat relocated to the Fraser Coast region where he now calls Hervey Bay home.
Jessica garner - osteopath & Clinic manager
Jessica graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy). Jess is originally from Melbourne where she found her love for osteopathy and continues to connect with the principles of osteopathy and the holistic nature of treatment and management. Jess is enthusiastic to be a part of the developing osteopathic community and continually improving her skills and clinical reasoning.
Jess has a keen passion for health care and appreciates the uniqueness of each individual. She believes it's important to understand each patient’s lifestyle to get them back to doing what they love. Jess holds great value in working as a team with the individual to get them back to doing what they love. Jess enjoys treating people of all ages, and has undertaken further study in pregnancy, pelvic related conditions and pediatric care. Jess finds great joy in supporting families through this exciting time in their lives.
claude issa - osteopath
Claude graduated from RMIT University in Melbourne with a Bachelor of Health Science & Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy). During his study, Claude was selected to complete placement in India where he worked within hospital and community settings, helping to educate and provide treatment to the local community. This experience strengthened his passion for Osteopathy.
Claude aims to improve each individual through all aspects of their health. Every individual is unique and it’s important to provide the best patient-centred approach to care in helping them reach their optimal well-being. Whether recovering from an acute injury, minimising chronic pain conditions or providing any form of advice, Claude strives to help you achieve your goals as he has suffered from numerous sporting injuries himself. Claude is a mad sports fanatic who loves nearly all sports including AFL, basketball & cricket.
Jay Andrew - Physiotherapist
Jay grew up in Hervey Bay and graduated from Central Queensland University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours). Throughout Jay’s final year, he gained experience in multiple musculoskeletal practice from hospital outpatients to the university clinic in Brisbane. In his spare time, Jay has a passion for sports, playing AFL on weekends and involving himself within the community.
Jay believes in the importance of working with his patients to achieve their goals, whether it be through a multidisciplinary approach, manual therapy or exercise prescription. He has gained interest in treating sports related injuries and enjoys seeing patients get back to their full potential.
Tiana Lines- Physiotherapist
Tiana graduated from the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. During her study, Tiana completed a placement in Vanuatu for the Pacific Island games and worked three years as a sports trainer for a local AFL team. Through this experience Tiana garnered an interest in working in a private musculoskeletal setting.
With a passion for health care and helping people, Tiana prides herself in listening to the needs of each individual and ensuring that every person is able to get back to what they love doing, pain free. Tiana understands the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in reaching individuals goals and rehabilitation and is privileged to work in a clinic with the ability to offer this care.
Rocio Montejo- Exercise Physiologist
Rocio is an enthusiastic Exercise Physiologist with a proven ability to help people achieve their health goals and rehabilitation. Ro graduated in Granada, Spain with a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science and worked with professional soccer players assessing physical condition and cardiopulmonary condition. She lived in Canada before deciding to more to Australia 10 years ago to continue her career as an Exercise Physiologist. To further her studies, Ro graduated with a masters degree from Charles Sturt University in NSW. She has been living in Hervey Bay for 3 years and loves to call it her home together with her partner and doggy.
Rocio deeply understands the needs of her clients, and develops practical and achievable exercise prescriptions for them to reach their goals and improve their functionality, structural and physiological health.
You can find Rocio walking her dog Wally at the beach, mountain biking, bushwalking and snorkelling in any corner of our town.
Amy Clapp- Exercise Physiologist
Amy is an experienced Exercise Physiologist who graduated from the University of Ballarat with Bachelors degree in Exercise and Sport Science in 2014. She continued to study in 2015 and graduated with a Graduate Diploma of Clinical Exercise Physiology. Since graduating Amy moved to Hervey Bay and has continued to work in the local community.
Amy has worked with a variety of clients but over time has taken a strong interest in Respiratory Rehabilitation and Paediatric Rehabilitation. Amy has also taught clinical mat Pilates in a rehabilitation setting for a number of years adding to her ever expanding knowledge. Amy believes the importance of providing quality rehabilitation to help clients achieve their goals through their exercise programs.
Outside of work Amy enjoys spending time with her partner and two young boys at the park or beach. Amy also enjoys being active and being a role model for young children and their families
Amy Thompson- Myotherapist
Originally from the Bay, Amy has spent a large portion of her life in Brisbane and Melbourne. It was in Melbourne she found her passion for movement and Myotherapy, working as a Personal Trainer for some years while completing her degree in Clinical Myotherapy.
She now brings her passion and skills back to Hervey Bay with a philosophy of treating pain holistically, endeavouring to find the root cause and not just treat the symptoms. With a background in nutrition, sports and movement, Amy is able to assess all factors relating to pain or dysfunctional movement and deliver results. Her passion is dry needling, but is equally happy to find what works for her clients, be it cupping, joint mobilisation, myofascial release or massage.
Amy is excited to bring Myotherapy to Hervey Bay, and pioneer this treatment modality to locals and visitors alike.
jo newitt - Administration
Jo has extensive experience in medical administration and has a Dip. of Practice Management. Jo is passionate about supporting and assisting clinic management to achieve a pleasant, stress-free and positive experience for all of our patients.
Jo's integrity and her ability to care for the well-being of our patients starts from the moment they make contact with the clinic.
Outside of work, Jo values friends and family time, enjoying outdoor adventures. Jo’s travels include 4WD and camping trips to Cape York, Uluru and more recently a Kimberleys trip to WA. Jo and her family often explore local treasures also like K'Gari (Fraser Island), Stradebroke & Moreton Islands.
Sam kolmus - administration
Sam has vast experience in administration and customer service having worked in all aspects of the employment field including medical admin, insurance and even grain sampling! She is happy to be at reception greeting patients, having a chin wag and making everyone feel welcome at Bay Osteo.
She loves spending time with her family including her hubby, twin teenage girls and two dogs, Rosie and Misty. Sam enjoys playing pickleball, walking, bike riding, camping and relaxing with a wine on a sunny afternoon!
Emily Mcgregor
Emily is a high-school student and plans to study for a career in medicine, specifically endocrinology. She really enjoys her role in medical administration at the moment as she is able to meet so many different people. Emily enjoys going to the beach with friends and spending time with her border collie, and looks forward to finishing high-school and going to university as well as embarking on the next chapter of her life.
